dc.description.abstract The aim of this study is to investigate the possible relationship between smartphone addiction, self-esteem, social anxiety, gender and age. The sample consisted of 126 participants (male = 36, female = 90) between the ages of 18-52 years old. Participants completed an online survey which comprised of three different questionnaires: The Smartphone Addiction Scale, Rosenberg’s Self-Esteem Scale, and the Interaction Anxiousness Scale. Age and Gender were inputted by the researcher. A Spearman’s Rho test was used to examine the relationship between the variables, and a Mann Whitney U test was used to examine the differences between the variables. The results revealed no significant relationship between the variables, however there were age and gender differences found between the variables examined. en
