The present study examines whether demographic factors, including age and gender, as well as diagnosed mental disorder influence the perceived treatment satisfaction of the client. It further investigates whether the treatment satisfaction is an important factor in relation to adherence to treatment and continued psychiatric care (Ware et al., 1978; Berghofer et al., 2002). Statistical analysis indicates a significant difference in treatment satisfaction between males and females, and that indeed treatment satisfaction has a significant impact on clients' motivation to complete the full course of treatment, instead of terminating it prematurely. However, positive results are mitigated by a small sample size (n = 48), therefore conclusions about the perceived treatment satisfaction must be interpreted with caution.
