Therefore the transformation from fixed- to mobile-service networks has already started. With the introduction of a third generation mobile network Businesses have to take on a new challenge. This study gives an overview about the technologies and their development for mobile communication and shows that the recent market trends and developments in the mobile communication and multimedia sector are a good foundation for the introduction of a multimedia enabled mobile network.
