    Abstract
The present study used a multiple regression design to test the effect between the measured variables of acceptance of illness, anger/ irritability, gender, social support, along with more variables, affecting quality of life. A clinical sample of people with Ankylosing Spondylitis and Rheumatoid Arthritis (n = 40 males and n = 46 women) were used and who participated voluntarily. The results indicated a positive strong effect of acceptance of illness on quality of life (Standardised Beta = .538, p < .000), along with a positive weak effect of social support on quality of life (Standardised Beta = 0.201, p < 0.05) and a negative effect of irritability on quality of life (Standardised Beta = -2.420, p < .019). There was no gender difference found to have an effect on the quality of life of the participants (Standardised Beta = -.016, p > .839).
