This report focuses on the management of computer systems security within an organisation. The choice of topic was inspired by my interest in information computer security within organisations that are experiencing the information intensity of today's 'Information Society', the interest matured as a result of a number of modules studied on the programme (the two most notably Information Management, Systems Strategies and Techniques). The objectives of this report are twofold. Firstly, it seeks to develop an understanding of systems security and the necessity for organisations to concentrate not only on technology involved in system security but also on the importance of managing and monitoring organisational information system security within today's dynamic environment that is the 'Information Society'. Secondly, it also seeks to elucidate and evaluate the issues involved at a practical level through an actual consultancy review of managing computer security - In Perenco - a major industrial supplier.en
