    Abstract
The author first came in contact with the subject of E-Learning in previous academic work. As organisations become more competitive the area of training becomes increasingly important for them, and thus for HR. E-Learning is a new training phenomenon that has been surrounded by much hype in recent years. The author believes that the training medium behind this hype needs to be investigated thus, this study will be beneficial with regards future employment. The researcher believes that this study will be both useful and beneficial to organisations that may be considering implementing E-Learning, by giving an indication of its benefits and drawbacks, the major HR implementation considerations and the barriers to E-Learning and how to overcome them. It is also hoped that the facts established in this study would be beneficial to other researchers conducting similar studies on e-Learning by adding to the body of knowledge that already exists.
