Abstract
Two established techniques from the field of Behavioural Analysis (performance feedback and goal-setting) were tested as interventions to reduce domestic electricity consumption. Reductions of up to 33% were achieved by participating households in Northern Ireland. An alternating intervention/baseline design and 10 month participation period allow issues of behavioural maintenance and mechanisms of change to be addressed.
