dc.description.abstractThis research focused on the relationships between sources of student stress, psychological well being and coping skills as influenced by gender. Increasing stress reactions among college students have become widely recognised in college life (Misra & Castillo, 2004). The participants used were 100 Dublin Business School full and part time students. They filled out four questionnaires, CLAN survey, GHQ, MBI and brief COPE. This study used a crosssectional, quantitative design. The results found that sources of student stress and depersonalization significantly predicted emotional exhaustion, and that females reported significantly more efficient approach coping skills than males. Overall the results of this study suggest that understanding relationships between gender, stress and coping styles could be beneficial to lowering stress in student life.en
