Abstract
The onset of the new Justice League films, beginning with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 gives me great pause due to my opinions of their director, Zack Snyder. He is a director that certainly seems to inspire controversy over his adaptations of sacred geek properties and a garish visual style that could be considered off-putting. 1 Yet while others could point to both good and bad attributes, my main reservations stem from the underlying ways that he tells his stories and their effect on audiences.
