This study focuses on the "Role of the IT Managers and CIOs in the Modern Computer Industry". It contains a research on the changes in experience, education, required skills and responsibilities that this profile entails and how these changes relate to approaches to IS Alignment, Positioning and Benchmarking. The variety of roles and titles of the IS Manager in today's organizations are therefore explored along the key issues and tasks facing such a manager. With the changing roles of the IS function comes a set of changes in IS Management. The nature of Management itself has radically altered over the past decades. The revolution brought about by technologies created the need in organizations for someone responsible for a wide range of technical and business issues at the same time.
