This project studies the four largest agricultural co-ops in Ireland (Kerry, Waterford, Avonmore and Golden Vale), who have all chosen to change their status to Plc. The reasoning behind this decision is examined and the effects of this alteration is explored. Co-ops are compared to Plc's, to try and classify the differences and implications of each. You are taken through the early years of each co-op and their transformation to Plc. Then each product sector is considered, explaining locations and brands. Future trends are studied and what course each individual co-op/Plc should follow. Financial analysis puts the base to any future strategies and shows how they have performed. Future possibilities for the industry are discussed to try and put a picture together of things to come for each Plc.
