This study examined the impact of stress, optimism and workload on job satisfaction amongst Irish adults. A questionnaire was distributed electronically amongst peers and colleagues and on social media. 90 questionnaires were completed (Females = 52, Males = 38). A quantitative correlational design using self report measures was employed. Overall results were inconsistent with previous research, finding no difference in levels of job satisfaction levels between genders or between those in full versus part time employment. Excessive workloads were found to contribute to higher stress levels, and in turn high stress levels were found to negatively impact job satisfaction scores.
