The health care costs are on the rise, as it is reported by Department of Health in Ireland, therefore it is becoming more apparent, that health promotion and ill health prevention should be of interest to the governing bodies. The focus of this study was to examine the influence of coping behaviours (support, control, self-efficacy and optimism) and exercise on well-being operationalised as happiness, life satisfaction, stress, anxiety and depression. The study employed correlational and cross-sectional quantitative design to determine significance of the variables, which were subsequently entered into regression models with all the well-being measures. A questionnaire was administered in order to collect the data in relation to all the variables, and 107 individuals took part in the study. The results of the study showed, that all predictors had relationship with some, most or all of the outcome measures, however, only two predictors accounted for the most variance.en
