The aim of the study was to examine if there was a sense of purpose achieved by males who attend the Men’s Shed in Ireland, and if these members feel a sense of belonging being part of the Men’s Shed. The goal of the research was to explore the importance the Men’s Shed plays in their lives, in areas such as belonging to a group, contributing to the community, completing different projects, and their overall well-being. Qualitative research was conducted using a sample of 5 participants who described their experiences of the Men’s Shed in semi-structured interviews. Interviews were transcribed and then analysed using thematic analysis. Six themes emerged from the dataset along with various sub-themes. The study found positive experiences of members in the Men’s Shed and analysis illustrated that interaction and socialisation are necessary for men throughout their lifetime and can have a major impact on their physical and mental health.en
