dc.description.abstract | The aim of this study was to investigate if attachment style and perceived social support
would predict loneliness among students. It also aimed to investigate if there would be a
significant difference in perceived social support between international and non-international
students. Furthermore, it sought to examine if there was a difference between international
and non-international student on levels of loneliness. A quantitative approach was taken for
this study using a cross-sectional, correlational design and a convenient sample. Participants
were recruited online via social media platforms where they were asked to fill out a selfreport
survey which contained scales measuring attachment style, perceived social support,
and loneliness levels. 102 participants took part in this study. Inferential statistical analysis
reported significant results for all hypotheses. | en |
