The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between growth mindset, adaptability and stress. The study comprised a quantitative correlational study. In this study full-time and part-time students were asked to participate in a voluntary on-line survey. The students were from a range of different academic, third level courses. They were asked to complete demographic information and three self-report questionnaires. The questionnaires included the Theories of Intelligence (Mindset) Measure, the Stress items from the DASS-21 questionnaire and the Adaptability items from the Emotional Capital Report (ECR). The results suggested that there is a significant difference in the level of stress between males and females and that further research on the relationship between gross mindset, adaptability and stress would help to formulate policy and programmes for multi-faceted stress related interventions for third level students.en
