dc.description.abstractThis Final Year Project will investigate the emotional effects caused on an elderly person with the transition into care. The study was carried out by using Qualitative Analysis which involved interviews each participant in relation to the emotional effects caused on an elderly person by the transition into care. The study investigates the different perspectives and experiences the participants have when it comes to the move into care. The common themes that were researched were the importance of person centred care, care plan, activities, and staff relationships on the lives of the elderly during the move into care. The results of the study showed participants to all find through one or more of the common themes. The study showed these common themes were the biggest influence in helping a resident with the move to this nursing home and the importance of their relationships with residents and family.
