Abstract
The PUBLISSO platform (https://books.publisso.de) combines all functionalities of a publication process. In this lecture the different aspects of the publication on PUBLISSO will be presented: For authors: The special feature of PUBLISSO is that all contributors of a publication (e.g. author, reviewer, editor) register on the platform. Because the platform is web- based, users from all over the world can work together. They do their tasks directly on the platform. Thus, the entire publication process takes place on just one single platform – from submission to publication. In doing so, we have avoided the problem of media disruption and the challenges of using multiple different systems and offer a simple and clear system solution. Any publication format can be used on PUBLISSO: from the classic book to any media format of the future. We ensure quality through a differentiated peer review process. Every PUBLISSO-publication is accessible, readable and reusable from anywhere – all publications are Open Access. For editors: PUBLISSO is a highly flexible system that can be adapted to individual requirements: specific roles, an individual publication process, special features and much more. In addition, ZB MED offers various service levels so that everyone gets the support they want. The technical side: On PUBLISSO you can publish different types of media. You can link publications with research data and other related publications. There are also different options for output formats. The published (meta)data are long-term archived and are findable forever via the Digital Object Identifier. They are distributed in different search portals to ensure findability. Statistics and alternative metrics provide information about usage. The platform is based on Drupal. It is Open Source, gets constantly new custom features, and is doing all it’s best to be state of the art.
