Abstract
The study is related to the risk analysis of Private Banks in India. This study is based on three banks of India i.e. HDFC bank, ICICI bank and Axis bank. In the study researcher has also focused on various types of risk like operational, credit risk etc. Nowadays, most of the customers belonging to Indian banking system are becoming defaulters which results in increasing number of NPA and bad loans in banks. However, HDFC, Axis and ICICI banks are the top most private sector banks of India, so these are having more customer base, hence more chances of default. The study is based on quantitative data, for that questionnaire have been developed on google sheet and that was distributed through among 600 bank employees of three banks and out of which only 152 employees filled the questionnaire completely. After collection of the data, SPSS analysis was done, where chi square test was applied to some of the variables. The outcomes of the study are All the three banks were found to have low NPAs. The common reasons of having NPAs in the banks were found to be the lack of financial resources, defaults by customers, lack of legal policies, and lack of supervision. The study recommends the incorporation of risk management in the organization’s culture so that everyone in the banking hierarchy, from top management to low-level management, can share a common vision pertaining to risk identification, assessment, management and control.
