Motivation and job satisfaction among employees is the most important organizational success
factor. These two aspects are closely related with high performance and the relationship
between these three variables have been proved by many researchers as well as observed in this
study. In the secondary and primary research, it has been observed that employees who are
motivated are most likely to become satisfied with their job and more productive and innovative
than the employees who are not satisfied. This study is concerned about effects of motivation on
bringing job satisfaction and high performance. In the study motivational theories are critically
discussed with the application of these theories in modern era. Also components of job
satisfaction and its impact of high performance is discussed. This study attempts to fill gap in
research area by selecting one of the biggest edible oil refinery based in Pakistan. The research
is solely based on quantitative research approach which includes 32 participants working in the
organization under research. It was emerged that motivational level and job satisfaction level of
the employees working in the organization is at low to moderate level also it was found that
extrinsic reward is more effective in motivating and satisfying employees than intrinsic rewards.
The strong relationship between motivation, job satisfaction and high performance was also
found in this research.
