dc.description.abstractThe research area focuses on the recruitment strategy of Bollywood film industry in India. It highlighted the significance of qualification v/s competence for ethical recruitment due to excessive competition and its scope in the international market. The aim of the research was to study the difference between the theoretical and its practical applications to create a balance for engagement with the resources. The analysis have depicted the recruitment upto now as unethical due to lack of professionalism and organised structure. Hence, introducing the ‘ethical’ aspect proved beneficial for long term growth and development of the Bollywood film industry. The research included the variables such as qualification, competence, the ethical behaviour, awareness, learning, reputation, culture, performance, budgeting, stardom, politics, modernity and sustainable development. These variables were classified into the four categories i.e. independent, dependent, intervening and moderator variables. Qualitative method was chosen for understanding the reality of how recruitment process in Bollywood industry operates. The analysis was made by arranging the face-to-face interviews and the focus groups with the artists, producers, crew members and the management teams. It showed that a combination of two factors i.e. qualification and competence is required for ethical recruitment. The conclusions proved how talent, passion, patience and learning consistently support the knowledge, skills and abilities of an individual. It was thus very important to adapt and form a healthy work environment for a successful outcome. This empowered the employer-employee relationship as the key for generating the desired results constructivelyen
