The latest challenge for HR is to retain Generation Y employees. They are different than the previous generation. They are the failed result of parenting and hence need recognition even for small things done at work by them. This generation has a lot of expectation from their employees and tend to switch their job if the expectations are not fulfilled by their employer. The company invest in training this generation and then them switching the job would bring huge cost on the company. To retain millennials the elements like CSR, PHW and motivational factors can be used. Millennials might need the combination of these three elements to stay in an organisation. Irish IT sector tend to be the one of the main sectors in Ireland. Ireland is the European hub of technology and hence need to maintain that by retaining talented millennials. Currently most of the workforce is comprised by the generation Y and hence companies need to bring new policies according to millennials in order to retain them.
