CG and CSR in India as well as across the globe are one of the prominent and widely discussed areas of business affairs amongst Corporates, Investors, Society and other stakeholders of the company. It is becoming most vital area of research amongst various research scholars due to the increasing cases of severe corporate irregularities and malpractices across the world. CG aims at setting policies and strategies for determining company’s performance, growth and strategic direction.
The concept of CSR in India is highly misjudged, misinterpreted and misunderstood in India by various Corporates. CSR is not merely restricted to providing good working environment to employees of the organization or fulfilling needs and wants of all the stakeholders or society at large, but rather it lays emphasize on making extensive efforts by management towards the sustainable growth and development of company’s social objectives.
The proposed research study tries to understand the primary drivers of the Indian Companies behind performing and discharging various duties and responsibilities in lieu of CSR and CG. Furthermore, this paper attempts to provide proper understanding regarding the perception of BOD and KMPs regarding the approach of CSR and CG in India through an extensive procedural review of different literatures in due course of research.
The Main as well as Sub-Research Questions of the following Research are answered through a qualitative research study with collection of primary data from some selected employees of selected private limited and public listed companies of One State of India namely, Gujarat.
