The aim of the study was to investigate if the social environment of a secondary school will produce a collective identity that will exceed the personal identity of its adolescent students. Furthermore it aims to consider if different schools yield different collective identities in accordance with that school. A total of 69 respondents, divided into four groups according to school, answered a questionnaire on personal and collective identity and attitude toward own school. It was a one-way, between-subjects design using an unrelated sample. The findings failed to support the hypotheses. The collective identity of an individual does not exceed their personal identity and the attitude that an individual has for their school does not affect their personal or collective identities.
