The Padua Inventory measures obsessive-compulsive behaviours in both clinical and non-clinical subjects. lt provides general information about the severity of the subjects OCD and organizes scores into five clusters of obsessionality. The Padua has never been administered to an Irish non-clinical sample before. The present study is a pilot that tests the validity of the Padua in a non-clinical Irish sample comparing the findings to a clinical Irish sample. The overall sample size was 50, 38 being non-clinical and 12 having a clinical diagnosis of OCD. Respondents filled in two questionnaires the Padua and the Beck Anxiety Scale. The hypoFinal Year Project of the study is that the subscale scores of the Padua Inventory in an Irish non-clinical sample will be lower than that of a clinical sample and that clinical participants will have higher levels of anxiety than the non-clinical sample. Results showed that the pilot study was a success and that the hypoFinal Year Project was upheld. However interesting results were found, particularly the contamination subscale where there was little difference between clinical and non-clinical participants. Further suggestions were given for future research in this area.en
