Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate psychological factors relating to attitudes towards online dating. One hundred and forty-nine individuals completed a survey which comprised of a recently developed a scale, specifically used to measure attitudes towards online dating accurately. The study focused on the following psychological correlates of attitudes towards online dating; self-esteem, social anxiety and openness. Results revealed that there is no relationship between self-esteem, openness and attitudes towards online dating.
