Abstract
The work of Latane and Darley (1968, 1970) and later Garcia, Kim, Moskowitz and Darley (2002) form the basis of the current study. The study examined the priming of the bystander effect as a function of age and religiosity and its effect upon subsequent helping behaviour. One hundred and fifty students of Dublin Business School selected randomly, participated in a between-subjects personality questionnaire study. The results did not support the main hypoFinal Year Project as no significant relationships between age, religiosity and chritability were found. The shortcomings of the experiment are highlighted and possible methods for overcoming them in future research is discussed.
