The aim of this study was to see if the variables personality, emotional intelligence, selfefficacy and age influenced or had any relationship with work motivation. The participants were 102 full-time employees over 18 years of age from two greater Dublin companies. In this study a quantitative cross-section correlation questionnaire design for between participants was used. Participants filled out questionnaires which measured the predictor variables of personality, emotional intelligence, self-efficacy and age and the criterion variable of work motivation. Results showed that emotional intelligence and self-efficacy had significant weak: positive relationships with work motivation. It was concluded that emotional intelligence and selfefficacy need to be further researched in relation to work motivation and that a reliable psychometric scale be produced to measure work motivation.
