Abstract

A definitive description of creativity is harder to come by. Creativity is a trait that appears to be under-represented in research and one that has links to other traits such as sensitivity. To measure creativity Remote Associates Test is often used. For sensitivity, Highly Sensitive Persons has been developed as a measure. This research set out to examine if there is a correlation for individuals with these traits finding employment in creative fields. To examine if individuals in the creative arts have a more accurate perception of their environment, the Remote Associates Test and Highly Sensitive Person were used. It was hypothesized that there would be a significant correlation between creativity and sensitivity and that individuals involved in creative fields would have a more accurate perception of their environment. Results are discussed in relation to previous research.
