Abstract
A moderate level of employee turnover may be good for a business because it brings new ideas and new approaches. However, each company has to have a strategy to retain people who with their high performance provide a competitive advantage. This document aims to denote the importance of employee retention strategy in the bakery industry in Ireland, which is why the researcher used a deductive approach and a quantitative method for the collection and data analysis. The findings showed that the bakeries do not have defined retention strategies, however, they comply with some key elements that employees look to stay in a company. This research will encourage the bakery companies to generate strategies for the retention of personnel focusing on the main elements that compose it.
