Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to provide a good overview of the Bluetooth technology concept. It strives to cover aspects concerning how Bluetooth will affect individuals and businesses in the twenty first Century. The first chapter provides an introductory explanation of Bluetooth technology. In terms of its background and the Bluetooth standardisation organisations are described. The usage models of this technology are presented in details in chapter two. The third chapter clearly explains how Bluetooth will benefit Businesses and individuals with particular attention on the living standards. Bluetooth will have to confront other wireless technologies. While Bluetooth will only have to interoperate with W AP, the relationship between other wireless technologies and Bluetooth will be balanced between competition and interoperability ( Chapter four) As any other technology the data flow within it must be transmitted securely. The security of Bluetooth is explained in chapter five. Finally, the infancy of Bluetooth implies the existence of limitations that are briefly underlined .
