Abstract
The aim of this research was to explore the body-image attitudes of Irish senior-cycle secondary school students and secondly, to examine if males and females differ significantly in the means of each of the MBSRQ subscale scores. The total number of participants was 60 (N=60) comprising of30 males and 30 females. All participants were senior-cycle (5th and 6th year) secondary school students. The study is a cross-sectional design. This was a questionnaire study using the Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire. The results of this study showed this sample of Irish senior-cycle secondary school students has presented a generally balanced body-image attitude and has illustrated that males and females differ in certain aspects of that attitude.
