Abstract
The aim of the present study is to determine whether there is a relationship betweenperceived stress, burnout, job satisfaction and absences. The study also looks for relationships between gender, age-groups and absenteeism. The method used was a crosssectional correlational design. The Maslach Burnout Inventory, Job Satisfaction Scale and Perceived Stress Scale were used to measure the variables. Participants were all part-time students from DBS College in employment. The students were asked to fill in the questionnaires and to disclose how many times they had been absent from work in the past 12 months. The analyses showed that there is a significantly inverse relationship between job satisfaction and absenteeism. Perceived Stress Scale and Maslach Burnout Inventory scores did not significantly correlate to days absent
