Abstract
The research aims to evaluate the impact of cloud computing adoption on operational efficiency in the Sri Lankan telecommunications industry. The telecommunications sector is rapidly increasing worldwide and companies are relying on cloud computing. It is necessary to study its impact on business operations. The study presented the theoretical background of the research and formulated the conceptual framework that connects the adoption of cloud computing with efficiency of the operations. There were also research gaps that were identified in the literature review and that justify the necessity of conducting more research to establish how cloud adoption can lead to improvement in operational performance in the context of organisational setting. This paper examines how the adoption of cloud computing can affect the operational efficiency of telecommunications firms in Sri Lanka. Using a qualitative approach, the study examines the perceptions and experiences of telecom professionals through semi-structured interviews.
