Abstract
Social media is a fast growing sector within society at the minute. The current research aims to investigate the influence social media usage has on physical activity and nutrition. The study looked at other variables, personality and education, which my have an effect on results. A total of 99 participants took part in the online survey. Each participant was informed of their rights in regards to withdrawal and consent. The survey measured education level, social media usage, social media influence, personality, nutrition and physical activity. The data analysis results showed a significant relationship between social media influence and physical activity, and nutrition and extroversion. However, no significance was found between the other variables.
