Abstract

The aim of this study is to assess workplace bullying and explore salient predictors of the outcome variables among migrant workers in Ireland. This study was conducted to see if bullying of migrant workers in the workplace is taken place, to what extent and to see how it affects the individual. The current study examines whether loneliness, adjustment to a new life abroad and social isolation might make migrant workers more vulnerable and thus more prone to be victims of bullying. The study is based on a correlational research questionnaire distributed to 100 migrant workers in the Dublin area. It was found that 33% (n=33) of the respondents were bullied. Results are interpreted in relation to previous literature and research in the area, strengths, weaknesses and limitations are identified and suggestions for future research are put forward.
